What is the Monsignor Bernard Schmitz
Memorial Improvement Fund?
The fund has been
set up to memorialize a man who gave thirty-six years of his life to our
parish.
Our 125 year old church
is in desperate and immediate need of major repairs.
Our inaugural goal
of $150,000 is very ambitious, but very necessary for immediate repairs.
100% of the money
that is donated to this fund will stay at St. Anthony's and be used for repairs
and upkeep for St. Anthony Church and Campus.
We have done all
the patching that we can do and all that is left, now, is to replace the roof
and its attachments. We cannot wait. Water
damage to the interior of the church has started and cannot be repaired until
the roof alterations are completed.
The Monsignor
Bernard Schmitz Memorial Improvement Fund is not just to replace our roof. Our
intention is that this fund will be ongoing, a living memorial to Monsignor
Schmitz. Anyone wishing to contribute to this fund from now on will be able to
do so. This fund could accept donations from other fund raisers such as
dinners, dances, and bake sales. You may ask that memorials be made to the fund
in lieu of flowers.
If we wait any
longer the cost would be unbearable.

roof needs to be replaced

replaced or substituted
Water damaged interior beams and roof

Tree of Life
As an ongoing memorial fund, you can remember family members or
Monsignor Schmitz on the Memorial Trees of Life. It will be placed in the back of the Church
as you exit the main entrance on either side. Four memorial plaque sizes are available
for placement on The Tree of Life with memorials beginning at $500. Memorials of less than $500 will be entered
into the Electronic Book of life, also in the back of church.
As you can see our church is in serious need of repair from age and
water damage. Without the necessary work being done soon, the very structural integrity of the
building itself will be in jeopardy.
We would like to thank you in advance for your generosity. We know Monsignor is smiling down on us and
thanking us for taking care of his beloved St. Anthony's, and please Monsignor
pray for our success, we will need all the help you can give us.
